We are looking for a full time Audio Describer to provide scripting for a wide range of materials and genres. The Audio Describer must take personal responsibility for their work, with superb attention to detail. They must be able to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines, whilst keeping the quality of their output to the highest possible level.
Although not essential for the role, we are interested in meeting Audio Describers who are also able to provide voiceover talent and have experience mixing their voiceover track back into the source material.
Principal Accountabilities
· Scripting Audio Description
· Maintaining and creating templates with vital information for each job, such as character/presenter information, locations and recurring scenes.
· Collaborative working internally, as well as working with external resources, to complete work to the highest standard.
· Reversioning scripts from older content.
· Various duties that may be required by management from time to time to ensure the department runs smoothly.
Key Competencies
· Strong written skills to work effectively and create audio description scripts in line with the client’s requirements.
· Able to think ahead proactively, plan your time accordingly to ensure deadlines are met, taking into account the various nuances of each project.
· Able to maintain attention to detail, multi-task and deliver to a tight deadline in a high-pressure environment.
· To build and maintain effective working relationships. Work with others to be part of a team.
· A passion for delivering excellence.
· Takes ownership and responsibility of their own work and understands the need for confidentiality.
Minimum Criteria:
· An excellent standard of written English, including spelling and grammar, as well as an interest in creative writing.
· Able to deliver high-quality work under time pressure, maintaining the expected quality at all times.
· Confident working both as part of a team and on your own.
· Strong attention to detail, as well as confidence reviewing the work of peers and providing feedback.
· An understanding of Access Services, and the issues consumers of media may face with accessibility, is desirable.
Bonus skills welcomed:
· Experience creating your own voiceover content
· Experience mixing your voiceover content into the source material
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £23,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
