If this is you, we have an exciting opportunity for an Ammunition Storekeeper position to join the Quartermasters Department (QM's)! We are offering this position at 37 hours per week, requests to work flexibly will be considered, considering the business needs.

Job description
The successful candidate will be versatile with a flexible approach to accommodate the constantly evolving needs of service delivery and providing general ammunition support to the wider establishment. This will consist of conducting daily issuing of ammunition, accounting of stock, recording of ammunition all in accordance with current policy and procedures.
The Ammunition Storekeeper is directly responsible to the QM(T) for the following matters concerning all aspects of ammunition within the Explosive Storage House (ESH) including security, storage and accounting for all ammunition.
You are also to ensure the following points are adhered to:
- Read and understand ATC(P) Standing Order’s and follow all guidance and direction.
- Adherence to the departmental rota and rotation of Civilian and Military employed personnel within the ESH and out stations with regards to general and weekly duties.
- Assist the Piquet Officer with managerial stores checks ensuring that 100% daily and weekly inspections are complete.
- Preparation of ammunition, empty containers, contaminated brass, ammunition articles and remnants for backloading.
- Conduct amnesty checks and procedures in accordance with army policy.
- Support the QM(T) with all internal / external audits.
- Ensure only competent and qualified personnel are issued ammunition according to the published authorities list displayed on Part One Orders.
- Ensure COSHH, DSE and SHEF risk assessments and procedures are read and understood and that you comply with all direction.
- Ensure you are kept up to date with your training and competencies and provide evidence to be recorded within the competency folder and share point.
- Carry out all other tasks as directed by the QM(T) or RQMS (Ammo).
Person specification
The successful candidate must be able to work under their own initiative as well as in a team. They must successfully complete the Ammunition Storekeeper Course within 6 months of taking on the role.
The successful candidate must have previous experience in using MJDI
