Job description
The Astrophoria Foundation Year seeks to appoint teaching staff for the Preparation for Undergraduate Studies Foundation Year course. This exciting position is a crucial part of delivering this programme for the first cohort of the students joining the University of Oxford in September 2023.
This role will be a fixed term variable hours contract dependent on the modules you teach, it is possible to apply to teach specific topics or for whole terms. The primary role of the post holder will be to prepare and deliver teaching within the relevant modules as described in the job descriptions in a way that will help students work towards the intended learning outcomes. The post holder will set and mark classwork and be a first point of contact for student matters.
The Preparation for Undergraduate Studies roles would be suitable for staff with experience of providing Learning Development support for students, the course will include Academic Skills, Communication Skills, Society and Culture and Personal Tutorial support for students.
The Astrophoria Foundation Year is a one-year fully-funded foundation programme for UK state school students with significant academic potential, who have experienced severe personal disadvantage and/or disrupted education which has resulted in them being unable to apply directly for an Oxford undergraduate degree programme.
