Job description
Position summary: Performs trade settlement responsibilities communicating with all brokers and custodians for trades executed by the trade desk in a timely, accurate manner. Responsible for the monitoring of and response to corporate actions. Identifies and communicates areas of potential development and upgrade. Works with others to define and carry out procedures and perform assigned tasks. Maintains the highest level of service to clients at all times and assists in the client reporting function.
Essential Responsibilities –
- Prepare documents for trade settlement communications with brokers, custodians and clients. Work with brokers and custodians to verify and confirm each trade completed by the trade desk. Consistently research, correct, maintain and communicate issues that relate to potential risk to company.
- Preparation of reports and presentations for clients
- Ensure that all trades, reports and requests are communicated accurately to clients in a timely fashion.
- Participate in the Custodial Retrieval Process. Assist in the development of daily transaction/position system upload and reconciliation. Support team in maintenance of custodial documentation.
- Responsible for organizing and producing data to auditors
- Devise improvements to current procedures and develop models of possible future configurations. Perform workflow analysis and recommend quality improvements.
- Maintenance/updating of the ‘Settlements Manual’
- Ensure all corporate actions are responded to in a timely manner
- Research problems to identify and proactively correct solutions.
- Assist Portfolio Managers with ad hoc queries
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Ancillary Responsibilities -
Reviews current processes to ensure efficiency; automates processes and writes and implements procedures.
Maintain up to date static data for counterparties and accounts at the custodian.
Requirements -
- High level of attention to detail
- High level of mathematical competence
- Knowledge of investments, fixed income, equity markets, derivatives and FX
- Knowledge of the Conning client base as well as the wider Lloyd’s and insurance market
- Strong team orientation and willingness to work
- Ability to work under strict time constraints, and prioritize workload
- Ability to focus on client needs and requirements while delivering beneficial service
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written form and orally
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Bloomberg and proprietary systems
