Job description

In-vivo Antibody Discovery Scientist is a great opportunity to join the Antibody Lead Discovery section in the in-vivo antibody discovery team. Using our human antibody expressing transgenic mouse model, you will be discovering therapeutic antibodies to treat patients in the clinic for a variety of disease targets.

As a laboratory scientist, you will be trained in multiple immunoassay techniques to assess immune responses and to utilise flow cytometry and microfluidic techniques for the isolation of antigen specific B-cells for their subsequent cloning and downstream expression. You will then apply these techniques to our therapeutic antibody discovery projects.

In this role you will

  • Run immunoassays (ELISA, iQue screener, Flow cytometry, etc as required by the project) on immunised serum samples to assess the quality of their immune response to the disease target immunogen.
  • Isolate antigen specific B-cells using FACS and Beacon platforms for downstream v-gene cloning and expression.
  • Entry data into our Antibody Discovery database system as the project progresses.
  • Perform V-gene sequence analysis to understand the output from the immunisations and select a diverse antibody panel for downstream expression and characterisation.
  • Communicate with partner groups, project teams and stakeholders on the status and progression of the immunisation project as required.
