What You Will Achieve
You will be part of Pfizer’s dynamic Market Access [UK Health & Value] team and will have the important role of leading operational support for evidence generation, research, and external engagement for market access of pre-market medicines. You will support scientists on the team as they assess the gaps in evidence required to demonstrate the economic value of our medicines and support the operationalization of data strategies to bridge these gaps by initiating and managing research studies with the team. You will also be focused on how to develop greater agility within the UK H&V team that is compliant and can move at pace to meet submission timelines for HTA and reimbursement. The impact of your support will be to provide a comprehensive narrative of patient benefit and support product portfolio decisions, product reimbursement strategies, and health technology assessment (HTA)/reimbursement submissions. You will work with outcomes research, real-world evidence, health economic, market access, medical, and compliance teams to ensure comprehensive data strategy alignment through a medicine’s life cycle and optimize research processes for H&V and across Pfizer. These strategies will also include external engagement and collaboration to develop and deliver market access solutions.
As an Associate Research Manager, your knowledge of research study management and conduct, project and vendor management, external engagement and collaborations, as well as skills in cross-functional collaboration will enable you to support complex projects across the division. While managing complex projects, you will be able to anticipate and troubleshoot roadblocks and influence teams to achieve targets for the division while working at pace. We are looking for a self-driven, highly motivated individual to transform patient access via evidence generation (including real-world evidence and outcomes research).
How You Will Achieve It
- Support complex projects across business units (therapy areas) and manage plans to achieve objectives.
- Support the operationalization of comprehensive evidence generation data strategies in partnership with outcomes research, real-world evidence, HTA, and medical colleagues
- Extensive experience in research study and project management, including but not limited to study start-up, study material approval, IRB submission, vendor management
- Initiate internal Pfizer compliance, procurement, and legal processes to support study initiation and launch, including submission of study materials for medical non-promotional certification via GCMA
- Identify and develop research plans for studies, as well as support study material development
- Support vendor selection and contracting for studies
- Support external engagement and research collaboration set-up
- Lead internal workgroups and/or projects focused on reducing red tape and increasing simplicity to drive agility in the UK research environment that is compliant, ethical, and at pace for HTA/reimbursement submissions
- Contribute to a culture of excellence and equity by open collaboration and active problem solving with diverse teams internally and externally
- Leverage communication skills for conveying complex scientific data to technical and non-technical audiences
Qualifications
- Degree in public health, epidemiology, statistics, life sciences, outcomes research with experience OR additional experience in clinical operations, research management, project management, or compliance; internal Pfizer experience a plus
- Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience
- Demonstrated experience in research and project management (which may include clinical trials, phase IV or post-market studies, epidemiologic or outcomes research)
- General understanding of global drug development and openness to learn about the UK HTA and reimbursement bodies, including HTA and JCVI
- Demonstrated leadership in identifying and addressing gaps in research processes, recommending optimization of processes, collaboration to dynamically solve challenges to move research forward at pace
- Demonstrated skill in change agility to address organizational/market access needs and dynamically adapt outcomes research strategies
- Demonstrated strength in teamwork, cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and developing partnerships with KOLs
- Demonstrated skill in communicating with technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong personal integrity and commitment to ethics and working in compliance with Pfizer policies and UK regulations
