The NFR team is a function that sits within the Markets & Securities Services area of HSBC. The NFR team helps manage and control non-financial and new risks in the business, including but not limited to operational, conduct and product lifecycle risk.
We are currently seeking an individual to join this team in the role of Associate, Product Risk Team
The primary purpose will be to protect HSBC, its People, Clients and Financial Markets by helping safeguarding the delivery of fair outcomes to our customers and avoiding disruption of the orderly and transparent operation of Financial Markets.
The Product Risk team is responsible for owning the product governance framework within GB and MSS, with oversight over the introduction of all new products, variations on products /processes within all the asset classes and the ongoing review of these products.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Interfacing with the individual Front Office businesses and Support Functions to facilitate the effective and efficient management of all aspects of the product lifecycle.
- Provide administrative support for the overall new business due diligence process, from launch to post approval. Follow up on initiative status, post execution review, open caveats and ongoing product reviews, in a timely and independent manner.
- Assisting with the coordination of the agenda for the New Business Review Committee (NBRC).
- Production and development of Management Information for the Product Risk process.
- Ensure the appropriate level of information is provided to the Support Functions and they are operating in accordance with the business priorities for new initiatives.
- Bachelor's or equivalent University degree. Experience of a business lines within Global Banking & Markets is essential with a good overall knowledge of the range of GB&M products or in-depth product knowledge of a specific asset class.
- Strong academic background with a good degree and ideally a recognised professional qualification. Banking experience required.
- Clear communication skills, particularly the ability to distil complex items down to the key points and communicate these to senior management and to manage stake holder’s expectations
- Ability to proactively anticipate, react and respond to change
- Proven organisational skills and project management experience would be useful
- Knowledge of the due diligence process at HSBC or other leading international banks would be a significant advantage
