Associate Product Owner
We are looking for a Associate Product Owner to join our Product Team here at Harrods. This role is critical in building upon the current architecture and ensures the overall Harrods Business Strategy is enabled and supported.
About the Role
This role will be reporting to our Senior Product Manager within the Product Team and wider Business Solutions Team that sits within IT. This role was created to support the acceleration of the Continuous Improvement Roadmap for the products we have invested in. You will take direct ownership of defining the agenda for the enhancement of the solutions.
As an expert in the business of system processes, the Associate Product Owner captures and maintains a backlog of new improvements, and your focus will be delivering initiatives that add value to the business and support the operational teams in optimising the solution capability.
You will be accountable for:
- Supporting the Product Owners to work with business stakeholders in defining a Continuous Improvement Roadmap.
- Supporting the management of backlog, by triaging new requests, including enhancements and improvements and bugs/fixes.
- Support with backlog grooming and prioritising based on value.
- Raise tickets in the appropriate handling system with clearly defined user stories and acceptance criteria for the developers to work on.
- Attending all events within the development sprint acting as the primary contact for the development team.
- Understanding the platform roadmaps and strategy for the solutions we use and supporting understanding throughout the business.
- Regularly gathering and sharing feedback with the platform providers to influence future developments.
- Learning about SCRUM framework and completing product certifications to become a proficient product owner that champions best practices.
About You
As an Associate Product Owner, you will be an effective communicator who is confident in bringing their expertise from working with business stakeholders to build trusted relationships. You will have a continuous improvement mindset, and have a creative approach to problem-solving. You are flexible and ready to adapt to changing priorities, and are able to prioritise your workload effectively. You also have a strong customer focus when dealing with internal and external parties.
You will also have:
- Experience working within or alongside technical delivery teams.
- Experience working within a technology focused organisation.
- A track record of being part of projects through the full lifecycle (from definition to post-launch).
- Desirably, some experience working in a product team with some level of product certification (i.e. SCRUM).
