Position Summary:

At Energizer, we owe our success to the efficiency of our organisational processes. To help maintain and grow this standard, the operations manager will lead our operations team. As an ideal candidate, you’ll drive performance and the Company’s values, have a sharp business mind and proven success managing multiple departments toward maximum productivity. You’ll be highly skilled in safety, human resources, finance, and quality management. Additionally, you’ll display a proven ability to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within your team. Your ultimate responsibility is to increase our operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead plant operation and provide strategic direction to ensure customer service level commitments are achieved.
  • Partner with plant leadership as key improvements are being made (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, etc.)
  • Maintain working knowledge of schedules, costs, quality, safety, material utilisation, and productivity and provides direction and guidance to team on how to achieve production deliverables.
  • Analyse costs, material utilisation, and inventory levels to resolve variances. Develops necessary controls to monitor these areas. Promotes problem solving to address variances.
  • Drive safety, health and environmental initiatives as well as 5S and Housekeeping within assigned area.
  • Evaluate team’s training and development needs and works with internal/external partners to deliver.
  • Foster an environment that rewards performance and the company’s values for both hourly and salaried colleagues.
  • Demonstrate a pro-active and creative approach to problem solving and continuous improvement. Leads and/or facilitates improvement efforts/special projects for facility/area.
  • Promote and champions team initiatives, colleague ownership and empowerment.
  • Develop and coordinate production/maintenance schedules and human resource planning. Optimises flexibility of human resources, processes and equipment.
  • Partner with management to create a culture that champions team initiatives, ownership, empowerment, and morale.
  • Provide leadership and consistently advocate Energizer’s policies, practices and work rules to ensure consistency.
  • Foster a diverse and inclusive team environment.
What we are looking for:
  • 4-year degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent/ other appropriate fields, or equivalent experience.
  • A consistent rack record of leadership, development, budgeting, decision-making, organisational and motivational abilities.
  • Ability to meet and/or exceed business objectives (demonstrated) in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong focus on /commitment to cost, quality, delivery.
  • Basic understanding of Quality Systems, Lean, and IT tools. Able to lead the delivery of Lean (5S, visual mgt., kaizens, etc.) in their department
  • Understanding of key support/functional processes (materials management, quality systems, TPM, etc.)
  • Understands the value of, and is able to drive process discipline in the organisation
  • Financial skills (budgeting, financial analysis, etc.)
  • Project management skills.
