team by recruiting inspirational Associate Lecturers (ALs) who have a passion for delivering high quality learning experiences along with substantial experience gained through teaching, relevant professional experience, or both. You will join our Sheffield Institute of Education and will contribute to our mission to transform the lives of our students and trainee teachers.
You must have QTS as well as appropriate professional experience in a relevant secondary phase discipline.

- History

You may be currently working in schools or other education settings and may be interested in combining this with your enthusiasm and ability to pass on your knowledge and experience by creating and delivering high quality learning, teaching, and assessment.
You may be invited, based, on your experience and availability, to teach modules to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, usually through either a lecture or tutorial format, and also contribute to the design of some learning activities and assessments. Dissertation supervision may also be part of your role.
Becoming an AL can be an excellent introduction to teaching in higher education. Some teaching experience would be an advantage; however, you may have well developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, and theoretical issues relevant from both an academic and/or professional perspective in one or more of the following:
- Education
- Secondary
- Teach First
