We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Executive Director of Communications and Impact to join the Atlantic Institute based at the Rhodes Trust, Oxford.
About us
The Atlantic Institute was established in 2016 with the support of The Atlantic Philanthropies, and in collaboration with the Rhodes Trust, Oxford (UK).
The Atlantic Institute vision is accelerating the eradication of inequities for fairer, healthier and more inclusive societies. We do this by providing Atlantic Fellows and Atlantic Fellows Program staff with the networks, architecture and resources to connect, learn and act to address the underlying systemic causes of inequity – locally and globally.
The role
The Associate Executive Director of Communications & Impact will lead the communications strategy highlighting the impact of the Atlantic Fellows community.
The successful candidate will lead on the development, implementation and monitoring of the Institute’s operations & business planning. This role will be key in ensuring a high-quality service is provided for Institute staff, Fellows and Program staff.
Another key aspect of this role is the implementation of the communications strategy, supporting the Institute’s mission. The successful candidate will work in line with the overall strategy on communications and Institute strategy to oversee brand and identity guidelines for our community.
Being part of the Executive Leadership Team, the successful candidate will uphold the Institute’s vision, mission, values and strategic direction through delivery of the Strategic Plan.
The role will be responsible for;
- Promoting and give expression to the values of the Atlantic Institute in all aspects of role (A)
- Adopting a collaborative and supportive approach providing advice to colleagues as required, as a member of the Executive Leadership team (A)
- Contributing to the development of equity initiatives within the Institute and as part of the Legacy, Equity and Inclusion strategy at Rhodes
Essential skills, experience and qualifications: [max of 8 bullet points in this section]
- Effective leadership skills, ability to motivate, engage and develop a team and community of purpose in an agile and complex environment.
- Strong organisational ability; able to prepare budgets and operational plans, and to build management information and results-management systems in relation to the structure of specific programs.
- Program and project management experience, and a clear track record of effectively managing resources and schedules to bring ambitious initiatives to successful completion. Ability to review and redesign workflows to reduce duplication and improve work outcomes.
- Strong experience in the development and implementation of systems and processes for quality management, continuous improvement, monitoring and evaluation.
