Position Summary:
Associate Director, Consumer Marketing, Dermatology
Main area of responsibility will be to implement and manage U.S. Consumer Marketing plan for people dermatologic diseases, ultimately to drive demand for DUPIXENT in a very aggressive market. Namely: agency collaboration, patient and caregiver education materials development and implementation, management of print materials and inventory, sales force communications and management of sales force support materials, insuring consistency of consumer message and creative execution across all platforms, management of review materials schedule and process. Support Senior Leadership by contributing to the development of consumer brand plans and execution of supporting tactics. The candidate will eventually take ownership of specific indication(s); including strategic planning, tactical planning, and budget process.
A Typical Day Might Look Like This:
- Implementing the consumer strategy and tactical plan for the pre-launch, launch and post-launch periods as appropriate
- Represent promotional tactics for medical, legal, and regulatory team reviews and ensuring final deliverables are accurate and compliant
- Development and management of patient education materials and execution of dissemination plans for patient materials via sales force to physicians’ offices, electronic delivery and other distribution channels
- Working closely with entire Consumer Marketing team to insure consistency in programs, and branding elements
- Works collaboratively with internal (e.g., Market Research, Medical Affairs, Legal) and external partners (e.g., vendors, alliance partners) to ensure an integrated marketing program
- Cross indication materials management
This person will report into the Director, Consumer Marketing Dermatology.
- Demonstrated competency in managing a consumer marketing effort both internally & externally for a product launch
- 10+ years of U.S. Consumer marketing experience, with a minimum of 6 years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing (preferably including launch experience), 2+ years of DTC experience required
- Minimum of 4 years working on a brand team within a pharmaceutical and/or biotech company
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with team members to develop and execute education programs and support materials
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively, efficiently, and collaboratively with team members and across departments to ensure consistency and collaboration in strategy development and implementation of programs
- Demonstrated competency in agency/vendor management and budgets
- Demonstrated ability to implement health literacy principles to impact overall consumer communications platform
- Proven ability to work within regulatory, legal, and compliance guidelines
- Understanding of FDA and regulatory guidelines when it comes to promotion (specifically with consumers and patients)
- Demonstrated project management skills
Required Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated Consumer marketing competencies in the pharmaceutical/biotech areas
Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to work with an Alliance partner is required
Prior U.S. launch experience
Prior U.S. consumer marketing experience within the pharmaceutical industry
Strong interpersonal & presentation skills required
Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
Must be willing to travel 25-30% (including weekend travel as needed)
This is an office-based role and the expectation will be to work in the office 3-days a week
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree
Demonstrated experience in marketing of biologics preferred
The ideal Associate Director candidate must have a minimum 10 years of progressive marketing experience including at least 6 years in the Consumer space in pharmaceutical marketing, with 2+ years DTC experience
Pharmaceutical Sales and/or Sales Management a plus
Patient Advocacy experience a plus
