Strategic Enrollment Management at Augsburg University

The Associate Director of Admissions is a key leadership role responsible for driving sustainable growth in recruitment and admission activities. This position oversees the University's PSEO programs and provides strategic direction while also focusing on individualized recruitment and relationship management efforts with prospective students. The Associate Director works with incoming first-year and transfer student populations, contributing to their success and ensuring a seamless admissions process.
Primary Responsibilities
70% of time spent on PSEO direct student/guidance counselor engagement:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with PSEO partners.
- Maintain differentiated ongoing contact and communication with key high school staff.
- Oversee the student admissions process for the PSEO program.
- Support student/program success In collaboration with PSEO campus partners.
- Provide data reporting and analysis related to the PSEO program.
- Serve as a student success coaching for prospective students as part of Augsburg Applies To You program.
- Work with a limited group of students to strengthen recruitment impact through first-hand knowledge of student experiences.
- Conduct recruitment, yield, and anti-melt activities throughout the entire enrollment cycle.
30% of time spent on administrative tasks:
- Serve as an inclusive thought leader and strategic partner to aid in the design, planning, execution, and launch of continuous efforts to maintain and build upon Augsburg’s competitiveness within primary and secondary market segments.
- Manages a team of direct reports, providing skill/knowledge training, guidance and support on the team’s work capacities as well as individual belonging and growth.
- Assist with application review management, effectiveness and final admission decisions.
- Collaborate with the Operations Team to execute engaging on-campus and off-campus recruiting events and marketing communications.
- Contribute to key strategies, such as Augsburg Applies to YOU and Power of US.
- Compile key admissions data reports, analyze trends and outcomes, and recommend actions.
- Collaborate with the Director to identify and implement innovative methods of engaging with prospective students.
- Design, manage, and monitor tailored engagement approaches based on student backgrounds and goals.
Additional Responsibilities
- Identify new opportunities to increase interest and enhance yield of admitted applicants.
- In partnership with the Director, work collaboratively with cross-campus constituents, such as faculty, cross-functional teams, key committees, and other administrative or academic departments, to devise and implement effective integrated enrollment efforts.
- Assist with regular staff meetings and collaborate with other Associate Directors to further develop our Belonging Organizational Structure.
- Support professional development efforts.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in college admissions, enrollment management, and/or comparable professional roles.
- Evidence of the ability to work with persons from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong CRM, analytical, and technical skills.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Effective time management and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to understand and leverage systems, technology, and processes to manage work efficiently.
- Strong organizational and supervisory skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to reason/analyze and review several options to determine best strategy.
- A commitment to our Belonging Organizational Structure and to an inclusive workplace.
- Proven ability to achieve goals, influence others, and meet deadlines.
- A history of analytics and or marketing achievements.
- Ability to speak bilingually: Spanish, Somali, Arabic or Hmong.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours
- Typical work environment is an office. Working at a desk for long periods of time.
- Regular phone, computer keyboard, mouse and monitor use. Repetitive arm and hand motions.
- Medium physical work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Including carrying boxes, pushing carts, and moving inventory on shelves.
- Travel at various events which include standing, talking, and presenting.
- Travel that includes flying and driving capability.
- Emotional intelligence may be needed in order to effectively relate to and work with students and or families from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and occasional strong emotional reactions.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel (requires occasional overnight, evening and week-end work).
- Ability to travel within and outside of the region to recruit students and represent the University.
