One vacancy is based on the Data & Analytics Data Security Team. they are responsible for data security over-sight including data access, compliance, and risk management. The remaining two vacancies are based on the Centric team, they are looking for enthusiastic, skilled, and adaptable people to support citizen focused data products and services.

Job description

What will the successful candidate be doing?

  • Provide a professional service to ensure that that information governance is adequate and proportionate to help inform decision making.
  • Undertake data transfers in line with security guidance and requirements.
  • Can interpret complex information and apply attention to detail in a fast paced environment.
  • Provide advice & guidance to teams and projects.
  • Produce datasets and products to agreed timescales that add value to DWP and Other Government Departments in support of their business objectives.
  • Understand basic data issues and checks that the data and analysis look right.
  • Understand the concept of data being fit for purpose and understands the context of the data.
  • Aware of the importance to consider developing process efficiency and the common ways in which processes are optimised
  • Supports specific activities to improve development processes. Able to spot or identify obvious deficiencies.

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.

Salary Information

Salary for this role is £28,117.

Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer should maintain their current salary.

Existing Civil Servants who gain promotion may move to the bottom of the next grade pay scale or 10% increase in salary whichever would be the greater.

Stage 2: Interview

If you’re successful at sift stage you will be invited to a video interview via Microsoft Teams. There, you will be assessed against the following Behaviours:

If successful and transferring from another Government Department a criminal record check may be carried out.
