Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) is an origination and coverage business operating across the UK and North America. The business leads with a sector and relationship focus. It maintains UK regional delivery through hubs in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds and Manchester.
The Corporate Trade and Working Capital (CTWC) sales team is a cross-sector product team providing our CIB clients with working capital solutions across traditional trade, open account (including receivables, payables, invoice finance and asset backed lending), structured trade and commodity finance and asset finance.
We're currently seeking an Associate to join our team working within the Structuring, Transaction Execution and Management (STEM) function. Working both with STEM team, you'll provide support to allocated portfolio clients as well as managing client sales process for non-allocated portfolio clients.
This role provides the connectivity from our client through to CIC Coverage, Trade Sales, Trade Product and ultimately to Trade Services.
Your accountabilities will include:
- Management of flow and new issuance transactions (including transaction pricing) for clients
- Support with the execution of opportunities across the allocated portfolio of clients
- Support credit processes (both renewals and new business) across all trade products
- Engagement of trade operations, lending execution and internal / external legal for deals as the need arises
- Act as a direct point of contact for all non-allocated portfolio business including face to face meetings as applicable
- Develop and maintaining an understanding of our product sets including but not limited to traditional trade, open account (including receivables, payables, invoice finance and asset backed lending), structured trade and commodity finance and asset finance.
- Shadowing deals from origination to mandated stage, and taking ownership of deals from execution phase through to completion
- Helping to identify companies where we can increase our share of wallet
- Liaising with other areas of the Group in order to build and maintain strong partner relationships, obtain and exchange information and ensure best practice shared
- Assisting (where appropriate) with risk management including reviewing client submitted financial information, monitoring and reviewing customer facilities, including risk/reward ratios and product utilisation
- Reviewing MI and working with Coverage, Trade Services and the Client on income variances to resolve with all parties
- Ensuring invoicing and fees are collected and managing client escalations in this respect
- Ensuring all reporting is complete and accurate including OneView, Disco, EPC and OneMI alongside other reporting tools
- Active contribution to Conduct Risk Compliance – pulling together documents, checklists and ensuring 100% compliance.
Essential skills /experience:
- Solid understanding of Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to work with financial models.
- Excellent analytical skills with experience interpreting data and implement proactive, practical, creative and innovative solutions combined with profitability assessment.
Desirable skills:
- Technical understanding of Trade and Working Capital products
