As a Barclays Associate Banker Corporate Banking, you will be contributing to the growth of relationship managed portfolios across UK Corporate Banking. For this role, you will be assisting bankers with product knowledge, sales research, and customer relationship development, research into solutions to meet customers’ needs using market and industry information and risk management for the portfolio and enabling our journey to become the ‘go-to’ bank.

What will you be doing?
  • Developing and maintaining contact with clients. Proactively anticipate, respond to, and seek to exceed the expectations of the clients
  • Assisting the senior bankers in determining and driving business development with new and existing clients across and acting as first point of contact for clients
  • Conducting client reviews, business research, marketing, advertising & sponsorship campaigns, production of MI and monitoring success against strategic goals
  • Working with key stakeholders, product partners, Leading the on boarding process for new clients or new products to existing clients, working with KYC team to obtain KYC documentation
  • Assisting in leading risk and control within the portfolios and adhering to all mandatory policies and procedures relating to governance, regulatory compliance, operational and legal risk
  • Preparing credit applications and as required for Credit and Pricing, Manage Post-Sanction Fulfilment, acting as case manager with relevant stakeholders/support functions
  • Accounting for the risk-management of customer accounts, including Refer List Management, management of Breaches and Defaults, and portfolio Monitoring & Control
  • Assisting Banker(s) with the completion of regular and ad hoc internal/regulatory review exercises (e.g., Business Activity Reviews)

What we’re looking for:
  • Good knowledge of Standards, Policies, and Procedures and an awareness of Legislation affecting the Banking Industry
  • Experience in handling client management and/or coverage role with exposure to complex clients and ability to support such relationships with confidence
  • Good knowledge of corporate banking products and services and credit risk, AML
  • Knowledge of credit, transaction management, regulatory and financial crime risk

Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Developing a working knowledge of key Corporate Banking products applicable to your segment
Transaction banking product, correspondent banking market and product set
  • Familiarity with the Enhanced Due Diligence process, experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Salesforce
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a pressured environment with good relationship management skills
  • Ability to network effectively both internally and externally and maintain/develop relationships with C-Suite client officials, KBIs, product specialists
