We are a long-established Timber Merchant delivering timber and associated supplies to builders, contractors, and the public. We have two branches in East Anglia. As part of our continuing growth, we are now seeking an Assistant Transport Manager to join their team.

As a Assistant Yard Manager, you and the Yard Manager are responsible for overseeing a fleet of approximately vehicles (ranging from HGVs to Transit Vans) and Drivers within our Kings Lynn Branch.
Taking a hands-on stance, you’ll manage our busy yard/transport department which will include planning driver delivery routes, the loading and unloading of vehicles in a prompt and efficient manner to ensure the smooth running of the busy transport operations, maintaining delivery information.
In the Absence of the Yard Manager, you will step up and take on his responsibilities, making this roll a great career opportunity.
You’ll coordinate your team of Drivers, schedule customer deliveries and ensure that all materials are delivered in a timely fashion to maximise customer satisfaction.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
– Hands-on transport experience gained within a timber or builders merchant environment
– A Forklift truck license
- Driving Licence essential
– You must have excellent communication, planning and leadership skills, as well as a decisive and driven approach.
