Job overview
A new role to support our growing underwriting team who assess insurance risks to identify and lower exposure to protect the insurer and run profitable insurance.
You will be responsible for
- Assessing vet notes for illnesses and injuries and identify and protect against any ongoing concern
- Inspect claims which have occurred during the policy year to see if these will impact the renewal terms we offer
- Appraise underwriting referrals which do not fall under our guidelines, to see if cover can be offered and decide on what rates and terms
- Reviewing previously placed exclusions to see if the risk is still relevant to the insurance
- Check equine vettings for any concerns with the insurance risk
- Help our sales and customer service team explain underwriting decisions to our customers, when needed
Required skills & experience
To be successful you will need to bring
- At least 1 years’ insurance or veterinary experience, with an understanding of pet insurance
- Your own initiative to evaluate and analyse risks
- A curious nature to ask lots of questions
- High attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent prioritisation and time management skills
- Competent with ICT and keen to learn and develop new systems
- Good general education, including GCSE’s (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Customer focussed - a passion for customers and exceeding expectations
- Positive ‘can do’ attitude
- A love of pet
