Assistant Underwriter - Hull
Do you have previous experience in a Marine Hull underwriting support or similar Assistant Underwriting role?
Chubb Global Markets (CGM) are seeking are a hardworking and driven individual to join our marine hull, liability and yacht underwriting team. The role will entail support for the underwriters across three classes of business with the short term aim of assuming underwriting authority as part of the team.

Key Responsibilities
Assist the Hull & Yacht underwriters to capture broker submissions, generate system references and completed front sheets
Assist underwriters with recording submissions and exposures as required by the various CGM and COG applications
Process and file all declined and NTU submissions: ensuring that risk information, financial data and correspondence are ready for the review in the future
Ensure Contract Certainty and Sanctions check are conducted on all risks in line with Chubb Global Sanctions guidelines
Ensure endorsements are processed accurately onto the various Chubb booking and reporting systems
Help track premium income booking are in line with planned / reported numbers and investigate any differences
Produce periodic management reports on production and exposure summaries
Work closely with the USD and USS departments to ensure all outstanding queries are addresses within the specified timelines
Undertake specific project work around risk research, presentation preparation and process development.
Attend technical presentations and training programs internal and external to enhance technical understanding of the energy product line
Manage the CGM Marine specific work undertaken by allocated USD resources as required
Engage in all appropriate training and education with a view to assuming a degree of underwriting authority in due course
Qualifications
Preferred knowledge & experience in Hull insurance - ready to take next step in underwriting career
Must be willing to, or have already started to study for professional examinations
Ability to demonstrate practical and common sense approach to dealing with situations
Competent in Microsoft Office and all appropriate Chubb applications
Experience of Lloyd’s and the London market and the processing of insurance business
