WHAT TO EXPECT
The Funding & Investor Relations team manages the funding plans and transactions for JLR, including bonds and bank loans and credit facilities as well as the investor relations reporting and communication activities with investors, banks and rating agencies. This team also has responsibility for Middle Office activity related to reporting and financial control of foreign exchange hedging.
This role will be responsible for leading the team within this part of JLR’s Treasury function and ensuring that all deliverables are met. A strong working knowledge of the specific areas of responsibility within this role with technical understanding of wider Treasury and financial reporting will be essential.
You will need to be hands on across all aspects of funding, investor relations and Middle Office to support the team in delivering their objectives while also being able to build working relationships with banks, external advisors, the JLR external communications team, wider Finance teams within JLR and other senior stakeholders.
THE ROLE
Key Responsibilities
Delivery of funding transactions including management of internal and external parties (legal counsel, banks, etc).- Lead the creation of the annual report, quarterly reporting and other investor materials
- Work closely with the Tata Motors investor relations team to support investor communications at a group level.
- Development of materials for the Treasury Risk Management Committee.
- Supervision of the delivery of exposures used for hedging FX and commodities and ensuring that processes and models used to create these have adequate controls in place.
- Preparation of the funding plan for the Board.
- Engagement across the Treasury team and wider business.
- Development of team.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Experience of working in a Corporate Treasury function with working knowledge of arranging external debt and foreign exchange risk management.
- Working knowledge and strong technical understanding of debt facility documents.
- Knowledge of corporate finance fundamentals such as calculation of cost of debt and WACC.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the use of PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- Experience of collaborating effectively with both internal colleagues and external partners.
- Experience of managing and developing teams.
- Able to engage in direct conversations with investors and explain our business to them.
Desirable:
- Accounting or Treasury qualifications, e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA or ACT or MBA with finance concentrations.
- Experience of delivering complex securitisation transactions.
- Understanding of technical hedge accounting requirements, primarily relating to currency exposures.
- Experience of M&A and intercompany capital restructuring.
- Understanding of banking ‘Know Your Customer’ checks and sanctions compliance rules.
- Understanding of the automotive sector.
- An understanding of investor expectations relating to ESG in the automotive sector to support external reporting and raising of finance.
- Experience of working with credit rating agencies and knowledge of the ESG rating process.
