Job description
Due to an internal promotion , an exciting opportunity has arisen for an adaptable & enthusiastic Assistant Technician to join our Bioscience Technical team .
The role will involve assisting the technical team to providing support and guidance to students and academic colleagues in a teaching laboratory, by maintaining safe , clean and well stocked prep-room & teaching laboratory.
Following training, you may also support some preparation and set up of materials & equipment for laboratory practical lab sessions. Familiarity with Health and Safety procedures within a containment level 2 laboratory environment is desirable.
This hands-on role will suit an organised & helpful person, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with others, who is looking to build their knowledge & skills in a higher education environment. There will be an expectation to be flexible by supporting colleagues and students in both our containment Level 1 Bioscience laboratories & other areas of the School of Science and Technology, as part of a school-wide technical team.
