Purpose of the Assistant Surveyor role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Surveyor. We are looking to recruit a surveyor to join a Commercial team based in a new South Midlands Office reporting to the Commercial Manager. As a surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting surveys to determine the precise location and measurements of boundaries, buildings, structures, and other features of the land. You will be expected to work closely with clients, engineers, architects, and construction teams to ensure that all surveys are completed accurately and on time.
Main duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Surveyor:
· Responsible for managing developments across the region working cohesively with the land, technical, construction, and sales teams respectively.
· Conduct surveys using various tools and equipment to determine precise measurements and boundaries of the land.
· Prepare maps, sketches, and reports detailing the survey results.
· Analyse survey data to identify potential issues and recommend solutions.
· Provide advice on land use, property boundaries, and other related matters.
· Keep up to date with changes in regulations and industry standards related to land surveying.
Experience/knowledge requirements for the Assistant Surveyor:
· Experience in surveying work in housebuilding, associated procedures and practices including subcontract procurement, valuation of subcontractor payment applications, negotiation of final accounts, and preparation of monthly cost reports.
· Experience working for a house building organisation or the wider construction sector is essential.
· Must hold a recognised surveying qualification either HNC or HND.
