What you’ll be doing:
- Be responsible for laboratory facilities (which include daily equipment checks, instrument maintenance and general laboratory housekeeping)
- Conduct work to Good Laboratory Practice system in compliance with standard operating procedures
- Perform laboratory procedures using standard laboratory equipment
- Assist others in all aspects of laboratory and field studies in compliance with the relevant study plans / methods
- Conduct sample extraction and clean-up of samples using a variety of wet chemistry techniques.
- Operate analytical instrumentation such as HPLC.
- Maintain written and computer records
- Data entry and checking for study directors
- Calculate and report results
What we’re looking for:
- Ideally, you’ll have science related qualifications or equivalent experience and preferably experience gained in a lab environment
- Experience or exposure of working within a quality system would be desirable
- Experience or exposure to varied ecotoxicology studies
- Ability to keep clear and accurate written records of experimental work to a high standard
- Ability to work within a team and independently with supervision
- Practical IT skills in software packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experienced in organising, prioritising and completing work to required standards and to tight deadlines
