Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 07:30 – 17:00 (45 per week)
Salary: Up to £35k + Benefits
The Role:
Clancy are delighted to bring to market several opportunities for experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor’s to join our UKPN Alliance and play a pivotal role in achieving our vision of delivering smarter, greener infrastructure brilliantly.
You will assist in the management of commercial responsibilities on the Energy Alliance in order to maximise profit and control costs.
Responsibilities:
- Support in commercial activity across the Alliance, including the production and submission of valuations, claims, and contract/workstream performance data
- Support in the assessment, review and mitigation of commercial and contractual risks and implement Clancy policies for risk management
- Support the authorisation and submission of project variations to authorise the placement of contracts, subcontracts, material and plant orders
- Maximise cash flow through the control, measurement (including quality) and valuation of work, and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers
- Promote Clancy’s values towards its customers in order to meet or exceed their expectations
- Assist management with the subcontractor supply chain, including setting up, final accounts, applications etc.
- Produce weekly cost and value reports
- Provide feedback on commercial matters to management
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
You will possess a relevant professional qualification within quantity surveying and/or construction, highly developed communication skills and be someone who enjoys finding solutions to problems.
If you can also demonstrate practical commercial experience within a utilities or civils environment, an understanding of NEC3 Option A & C contract forms and excellent Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to report on data, we would love to hear from you!
