Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Rail, Civil Engineering & Aviation
Location – Warrington, North West
We are looking to strengthen our commercial offering in the North West region with the addition of 3 Assistant Quantity Surveyors to support continued growth in various client portfolio’s including rail asset management, infrastructure projects and aviation. This is an outstanding opportunity for Assistant Quantity Surveyor’s to hone and develop their skills with the support of our experienced commercial team in the North West Region.
The Role
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for assisting the Commercial team and contributing to the profitable performance of the business unit, through the successful commercial and financial management of works, including day to day duties such as:
- Assisting the Quantity Surveyors / Senior Quantity Surveyors with the procurement function and the evaluation of Subcontractors, including subcontract management and payment
- Prepare interim valuations
- Prepare final accounts and change controls
- Prepare project reports
- Prepare project forecasts
- Assisting in the preparation of CVR’s
Requirements
To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Trainee, Graduate or Assistant Quantity Surveyor in a civil engineering environment. Some rail experience would be beneficial but is not essential for the position.
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (HNC/HND/Degree)
- Civil Engineering project experience (rail, bridges, roads, structures for example)
- Contractual experience with NEC or bespoke NR forms of contract)
- Post Graduate experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor in a civils contracting environment (candidates currently working in a Trainee or Graduate Quantity Surveyor position looking for career progression will also be strongly considered).
