Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 0.85, Band 5 (Senior Assistant Psychologist), 18 month fixed-term contract post, within the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Psychology Weight Management Service. If you're passionate about the NHS and want a role that involves supporting people living with obesity to manage their weight and improve their health, this is the role for you. You will be delivering both 1:1 and group interventions using evidence based psychological models. You will be working alongside a Principal Clinical Psychologist and other members of the MDT, including physiotherapists, dietitians, and medical staff. There will be opportunities for research and service evaluation within this friendly team. You must be willing to travel as we work at numerous locations throughout the health board, across an expansive and beautiful geographical area from the coast to the mountains.
This post is fixed term for 18 months to meet the needs of the service.
The post is located professionally and managerially with the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Psychology Service. The Health Psychology Service is growing rapidly with current posts in a number of different services in addition to weight management, including critical care, cancer/palliative care, cardiac rehabilitation, neuropsychology, paediatrics, and employee well-being, plus further new developments in additional specialities, such as diabetes.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is part of the NHS Wales family. Our Health Board provides primary, secondary and community health and wellbeing services to around 450, 000 people living in the Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil ad Rhondda Cynon Taf area. CTM UHB is also commissioned to provide CAMHS services to the Swansea Bay and Neath Port Talbot geographical area.
