Assistant Psychologist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and organised part-time Assistant Psychologist to join Questa’s clinical and support team. Could potentially suit a graduate psychologist undertaking further study, particularly within clinical psychology or counselling psychology. Mostly remote working but also may be some in clinic work Hampshire/Surrey area so must be prepared to travel.
You will work with our existing AP‘s and our Administrator to support our Associates and the Clinical Management Team, providing administrative and clinical support to our clients and reporting to the Clinical Director.
Your role will involve two parts:
- Clinical (50%)
You will be trained to offer psychological coaching to clients coming though our diagnostic service, predominantly ADHD and ASC presentations. Also, supporting the clinical team with triaging referrals, screening psychometric tests under the clinical supervision of a qualified Psychologist, note taking and preparing reports but you may also be asked to assist with other ad-hoc tasks as they arise.
- Client Support and Administration (50%)
You will deal with acknowledging and receiving referrals to the service by phone and email, providing standard information and/or signposting to other services. Often the first point of contact for our clients, you will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to remain calm, sensitive and professional at all times.
You must hold a first degree in Psychology with eligibility for British Psychological Society (BPS). You must have some research experience including data & statistical analysis. Candidates with some experience of counselling or coaching is an advantage. Please do not apply if you do not meet these criteria or have the relevant experience as you will not be considered.
Whilst you will be working within a team, you will also work independently for significant periods. You must therefore be able to self-manage and be confident in dealing with telephone calls from a variety of people, some of whom may find themselves in difficult and distressing situations.
You will be given opportunities to train in and facilitate parts of psychometric assessments working closely with our clinical team and assisting them with the writing of reports and liaison with clients. You will be provided weekly clinical supervision and operational support.
You will need to be self-motivated, organised and disciplined. You should feel comfortable and confident working remotely and travelling as needed to clinics, schools etc.
