An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to join our warm and supportive West London Community Eating Disorders Service. You will work across the established specialist eating disorders service (0.6wte) and the newly developed eating disorder offer (0.4wte) across our community Mental Health Integrated Network Teams to support those with eating disorders of varying severity.
You will be involved in the development and delivery of the service, including conducting direct clinical work, working jointly with other teams and supporting the service lead in audits and service development. The team uses evidence-based therapeutic modalities for eating disorders, but we also understand that to meet clients’ needs, flexibility of approach is essential.

1. To support the delivery of psychological assessments of clients, applying psychological, self-report measures, rating scales, and semi-structured interviews with service users and others involved in the service user’s care, taking into account the service user’s mental health and wellbeing needs.
1. To support the delivery of psychological group interventions, under the clinical supervision of a qualified psychologist.
1. To support across a range of intervention which involve working with our local communities to meet the needs of our diverse communities
1. To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings.
2. To engage in specific project work to support the clinical team in their offer of delivering more informal interventions in the community
1. To assist in the design and implementation of service monitoring, audit, quality improvement, research and development projects within the service, as required.
1. To gather, collate and analyse data as required to inform pathways of care.
2. To analyse and display information in a way that aids the clear dissemination of information.
1. To create reports under supervision which clearly outline findings and suggest service development opportunities.
1. To attend meetings in which service developments are planned and discussed, as required

The post will offer a unique opportunity to contribute to our integrated teams; working with our community partners and with our growing team of Peer Support worker. Opportunities to work both directly and indirectly with clients, families and the MDT exist.
You will see clients with a wide range of eating difficulties and we work within a recovery model. There will also be an emphasis on working with staff through training and joint working to maximize the potential for improving the psychological well-being of all service users.
You will be supported and line managed by qualified psychologists. The post will allow you the opportunity to enhance and develop your clinical skills in a supportive context.
Regular supervision from an experienced psychologist will be provided. You will be part of a MDT and it is an exciting time to join the service when it is undergoing expansion and transformation. You will also be able to access wider Trust resources for professional support and CPD.
Our psychologists deliver and draw from a range of models, and are currently developing a range of NICE-informed group interventions as we widen our offer of active interventions and integrated team offers e.g., complex case formulation, joint working, teaching and working in partnership with our communities.
