Job description
The Post of Assistant Psychologist within the Developmental Paediatric Service (DPS) sits alongside clinicians and administrators and the other Assistant Psychologists within the Service. The role includes working with the ASD pathway (following training) with delivery of ADI-r, school observations, second professional with ADOS and pre and post diagnosis signposting.
The post holder will also be involved in supporting the Sleep Pathway including Service developments such as parent information and training. Other duties include supporting the Safeguarding Assessments process, audit and evaluation, and where required Chaperone for the Safeguarding Medicals following training.
Working with the Lead Consultant for the ADHD Pathway, there will be the opportunity to provide input on service development projects and audit and to support Service Audits and QI Projects appropriate to developing the service.
The post is directly accountable, with supervision of clinical practice, to the DPS Team and Mindworks Team for those pieces of work and comes with appropriate psychology supervision and support and includes links to the SABP AP training/support events.
There is potential for this post to be 3 days in DPS and 2 days within the Neurodevelopmental Pathway within the Mindworks Surrey contract - this opportunity is currently being explored.
