We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed graduate psychologists with a good honours degree.
This is an opportunity to work in a vibrant and friendly department, providing psychological assessment, interventions and consultation for patients under the supervision of a consultant psychologist.
You will work within the Department of Clinical Health Psychology at Salford Royal and will benefit from a supportive team of colleagues, including four consultant clinical/counselling psychologists, as well as clinical psychologists, health psychologists and CBT therapists.
It is essential that you have good interpersonal and communication skills and excellent computer and database skills. Experience of working in clinical health psychology is desirable.
You should have the ability to work closely with medical colleagues and members of various other disciplines, and have experience of multi-disciplinary team work.
Main duties of the job
- Work with patients suffering from a range of medical/surgical conditions as part of the clinical health psychology team
- A range of activities including providing psychological therapy for patients, co-facilitating psycho-educational groups, data analysis, literature reviews, data collection and audit.

Registration / Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Honours degree in Psychology with 2:1 minimum.
Desirable criteria
- Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice and/or research design or analysis.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential criteria
- Contact with people with psychological and/or physical health problems.
- Understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with psychological difficulties and/or other physical health problems.
- A good knowledge of lifespan psychology applied to healthcare.
- Experience of using IT software e.g.Excel for databases or data analysis.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of those with psychological and physical health difficulties (especially chronic fatigue).
- Experience of using psychological or psychometric tests.
- Touch typing
