This is an exciting time to join our growing team at Great Minds Together. As a not-for-profit organisation, we provide crucial support for families in crisis, children with SEND and/or SEMH needs and 24-hour therapeutic intervention support in a residential setting.
Job title: Assistant Psychologist
Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: £26,000 per annum
The role
We are currently seeking Assistant Psychologists to support with the growth of our National Psychology department.
We are looking for individuals that are passionate to support with an innovative social and clinical model of change across Education and Health and Social Care.
You will need to be someone that can display knowledge of mental health and specialist Trauma, LD and Autism programs to formulate effective intervention plans to support young people with physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, social and cultural needs.
Duties of the role
· Create positive relationships with children and young people and interact in a way that promotes self-esteem and confidence.
· Ensure daily recordings of a young person's day are kept to a high standard and provide guidance and support to the wider team.
· Gather extensive data provided in observational recordings to provide frequent and detailed progress reports and behaviour analysis.
· Have experience in conducting a variety of assessments with broad knowledge of different assessment tools and their benefits for young people with complex needs.
· Consult with multi-agency teams to advise on the best approaches and provisions to support learning, development, and emotional wellbeing.
Requirements
· You must have a degree in Psychology and be part of a professional body (e.g. BPS).
· Experience in working with young people that have a learning disability, Autism and/or have experienced Trauma (including Trauma from unmet needs).
· Good interpersonal skills.
· Excellent relationship building techniques.
