The AP will deliver Post Diagnostic Support for people who have received a diagnosis of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) along with their family/carers. They will offer information booklets, personalised care plans and health promotion group interventions. The post holder will also contribute to the reassessment of cognition and needs of people living with MCI and will maintain the register of people living in West Essex with MCI. This service was set up in Spring 2022 and offers the post holder the opportunity to shape and develop a new service, whilst also evaluating the impact of the service for people living with MCI and their carers. The post is based in Epping and the post holder will work across the West Essex three localities and teams. You will join our cohesive, supportive and well regarded team of 5 qualified psychologists, 2 CAP apprentices and 3 assistant psychologists, who provide services in inpatient, community mental health and dementia care settings in West Essex for Older People and people living with MCI and dementia. You would join the Essex Partnership University Foundation Trust Directorate of Psychological Services, and the local West Essex Psychology team and Aspiring Psychologists Group.
Our team has strong links with the University of Hertfordshire and University of Essex Doctorate in Clinical Psychology training courses and you would work alongside Doctoral Trainees on clinical placements. This role will suit someone with a desire for variety and autonomy in their professional role, and will provide significant opportunities for growth.

The post holder will work alongside colleagues working in the MCI service, as part of the Older People’s Psychology service.
