This post is offered within the Luton CAMHS Emotional and Behaviour Team (EBT) and the Luton and South Beds Community Access Team (CAS). The post is split 50:50 post between both teams.
Both teams are part of the Bedfordshire CAMHS service, and work alongside other CAMHS teams which offer specialist support, for example for clients in crisis, or those with eating disorders or learning difficulties. We also work closely with local schools, GP practices and Early Help teams.
Closing Date: 21stMay (the number of applications will be capped and therefore the advert may close earlier than listed)
Interview Date: 31stMay
Within EBT, the post-holder will be offering assessments and treatments to young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties, involving parent/carers, schools and other agencies as appropriate. This will be under the supervision of a practitioner psychologist.
Within CAS, the postholder will take a lead in auditing the service delivery of Luton and South Beds Community Access Team (CAS), and to conduct service-related and publishable research in development of a community resilience model of service delivery. You will also support an exciting co-produced community and school-based quality improvement project under the supervision of a consultant clinical psychologist.
The post-holder will require a high degree of professional autonomy and self-management, and the ability to work well in a team.
You will be supported by regular clinical and management supervision sessions, access to a variety of CPD sessions, and performance appraisals. You will also participate in clinical discussions within the teams, complex case discussions and reflective spaces.
The clinical team leaders are committed to staff development: there are regular opportunities for staff to apply for appropriate training courses. We are also passionate about service user participation, for example in evaluation of groups and service development. Our teams regularly undertake quality improvement initiatives. ELFT also prioritises staff wellbeing and we have introduced a range of staff wellbeing initiatives to support this.
This post is based in Luton, close to the M1 and easily reached by car and train from London, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire. Access to a car is helpful for this job, and we have a 50% discount on annual rail tickets.
