We are excited to recruit and welcome two Assistant Psychologist’s to join our thriving Older Person's Psychology Team within CTM UHB, on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidates will working in our Older Person's Mental Health Inpatient services, experiencing the breadth and diversity of clinical work that this specialty has to offer.
The CTM UHB Older Person's Psychology Team consists of a supportive and passionate team of colleagues, including experienced Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists and Psychological Therapists. We're a team who embraces change and opportunity, and are currently in an exciting period of service development. The successful candidates will be well supported and mentored by senior colleagues, and provided with a range of opportunities for career development.
The wider Psychology service within CTM UHB has undergone exciting developments in recent months and is a thriving department to sit within. We hold regular conferences throughout the year, where psychology teams across CTM UHB come together to share good practice and innovations within the trust and wider. We have close links with local Doctoral Clinical/Counselling Psychology programmes and provide regular training and placement opportunities to Trainees.
CTM UHB Older Person's Mental Health services are currently divided into five areas: Bridgend, Rhondda, Cynon, Taff and Merthyr - each area consists of an Older Person's Community Mental Health Team (OPCMHT) and Memory Assessment Service (MAS) and feeds into the Older Person's Mental Health inpatient wards within the health board. The successful candidates for these posts will be located within the Older Person's Mental Health inpatient teams, based in Angelton Clinic, Glanrhyd Hospital and/or Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant. The post holder will sit within a well-established multi-disciplinary teams.
These roles provide the opportunity to assist support and enhance the psychological care of people who are experiencing severe and enduring mental health difficulties. The roles will be multifaceted, and will include (but not be limited to): helping prepare for, and run psychological therapy groups, in addition to holding a small individual caseload, which will be fully supported and supervised.
You will be invited to assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
You will be supported and supervised by a Senior Clinical Psychologist.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
