Employment type: Permanent full-time


Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full- time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible or part- time approach where possible.


Salary: £43,000 -£47,000, plus bonus and other benefits.

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project is now seeking private investment with a view to start construction in 2024. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.


We have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager -Advance Works & Site Establishment to join SZC.


Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.


The Role


As the Assistant Project Manager (APM) you’ll provide project management support across Civils Programme Advance Works and Site Establishment projects as part of the overarching Civils Programme of SZC, whilst recognising the many interfaces and managing the impacts on the wider project.


You’ll also provide project management and administerial support to the Advance Works & Site Establishment Lead (SPM) and also work closely with Advance Works and Site Establishment Project Managers to support the delivery of a diverse range of projects to the required HSE, cost, schedule and quality requirements.


The Advance Works scope also has critical interfaces and interdependencies to Land, Construction and Environmental Permitting and Planning and you’ll support the SPM in ensuring that these interfaces are considered, and ‘watchful oversight’ is maintained.


You’ll also work closely with Advance Works and Site Establishment Project Managers and will provide focussed direct assistance (as required) to help co-ordinate projects throughout their lifecycle.


The Skills


You’ll have previous experience in supporting portfolio delivery on large scale projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.


Experience of successfully engaging groups of stakeholders (both internal and external) is key.


You’ll be able demonstrate management skills including project management, financial management, schedule management, risk management, change management and facilitation


Having knowledge of CDM Regulations would be beneficial.
