Turner & Townsend is an independent professional services company specialising in programme management, project management, cost and commercial management and advisory across the Real Estate, Infrastructure and Natural Resources sectors.
The business is currently going through an exciting period of growth and our Real Estate Project Management team in Nottingham is looking to appoint an Assistant Project Manager to work on exciting and varied projects across the East Midlands within both the Private Sector (commercial office, residential, logistics / manufacturing etc.) and Public Sector (schools, hospitals, leisure etc.).
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
To support Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for effectively delivering a range of tasks to high quality standards.
SCOPE
Assistant Project Managers assist on a wide range of projects of all sizes and dimensions, supporting a Project Manager and / or Senior Project Manager.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Conducting background research, data collection and benchmarking
- Establishing effective processes and systems to be utilised throughout the project
- Producing project plans
- Monitoring and documenting project progress and other performance indicators
- Tracking and documenting changes
- Preparing written project communication materials
- Preparing formal project progress and other reports
- Liaising with the client, contractors and designers
- Attending meetings and drafting minutes, etc
- Preparing presentation materials for client pitches, etc
- Inputting key information into the Turner & Townsend internal database
- Degree or its equivalent in Construction Management or Related Field
- Qualification in Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent is desirable
- A minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience working for a construction consultancy or contractor
- Some understanding of the project life cycle from inception to completion
- Knowledge and experience of all of the main project management concepts, tools, and techniques
- Design, management or construction experience gained within the general construction environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
