The School of Art and Design is an internationally recognised, award-winning School, with a tradition of innovation since 1843 and our alumni inform, create and shape the world around us. The School is a vibrant environment which embraces innovation in teaching, research and professional practice and offers exciting undergraduate and postgraduate courses including, automotive and product design, fine art, illustration, interior and graphic design, fashion and architecture.
As a result of expansion and the University’s on-going commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, we are seeking both an academic and active researcher/practitioner with a developing profile in architecture to join our thriving innovative courses.
The successful candidate for this position must have experience of HE teaching in design, creativity and innovation. They should be able to demonstrate an impressive engagement of work and/or professional creative practice. The post-holder must be actively engaged in research, professional creative practice and/or income generation and must have a proven track record of exploring new and emerging modes of practice and scholarship.
Applicants should be qualified at least to Master’s Level (or of equivalent professional status) and be able to relate the key debates framing the location and transformation of architecture in contemporary culture and to UK Higher Education. They should have a proven track record of leading and delivering a first-class student experience within Higher Education. Experience of education innovation would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate high level digital fluency and a continuing engagement with professional, scholarly and pedagogic development - those without a teaching qualification will be required to undertake Coventry University’s PGCHE or secure a HEA fellowship.
