Job description

The School of Art and Design is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and ambitious Fine Art practitioner to join our team of academics delivering programmes in Fine Art provision.

The successful candidates will lead in the development and delivery of teaching and learning on our undergraduate or postgraduate programmes, and contribute to the developing profile of the discipline across levels.

Applicants should demonstrate a wide range of creative practice, with evidence of engagement of HE teaching in a fine art context and ideally supporting a high standard of learning across the creative industries. They should have a proven track record of leading and delivering a first-class student experience within Higher Education. Experience of education innovation would be advantageous.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate an impressive engagement of work and/or professional creative practice. The post-holder should be actively engaged in research, professional creative practice and/or income generation and must have a proven track record of exploring new and emerging modes of practice and scholarship.

Applicants should be qualified at least to Master’s Level (or of equivalent professional status) and be able to relate the key debates framing the location and transformation of Fine Art in contemporary culture and to UK Higher Education.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate high level digital fluency and a continuing engagement with professional, scholarly and pedagogic development. Those without a teaching qualification will be required to undertake Coventry University’s PGCAP or secure a HEA fellowship.
