We are excited to announce that we are recruiting permanentBand 4 Therapy Assistant Practitionersto join ourCommunity Integrated Response Team (CIRT).
We also have Band 3 Trainee Assistant Practitioner posts available so therefore, applications will also be accepted from experienced therapy instructors / rehabilitation assistants / therapy assistants willing to undertake a 2 year Foundation degree via an apprenticeship route, commencing in March 2024.Applicants successful in this position will initially be on a 2 year fixed term contract and, on successful completion on the 2 year course, you will move into a permanent band 4 position.
CIRT consists of 3 teams:
Home First Team - supporting people to return home after a stay in hospital and continue their recovery and rehabilitation in their own surroundings
Urgent Community Response (UCR)- Providing people with urgent assessments, care and treatment for a short time at home, preventingunnecessaryhospital admissions.
Virtual Frailty Wards- Providing a safe alternative to hospital for patients living with frailty in the community.
We see adults across the Wirral who are best treated in their own homes, the work is varied and interesting and no two days are ever the same!
Your role will be to provide holistic assessments to an identified group of patients and be able to follow them up to enable them to reach their rehabilitation potential. The team consists of occupational therapists, physiotherapists and technical instructors, health care assistants and social care staff.
As this is an enhanced therapy assistant role, the successful candidate will have a prior set of skills as described in the person specification with sound knowledge and experience of working with complex, frail and older people in a rehabilitation setting. You will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work closely and collaboratively with a wide range of people, recognising and respecting the contribution of other health and social care professionals/ workers.

We are looking for experienced staff to join our friendly and highly motivated team.
If you are already a qualified Assistant Practitioner than your skills would be welcomed and you would be joining a multi-disciplinary team.
If you have therapy assistant experience butdon'thold the Assistant Practitioner qualification, then we welcome your application to apply for the Trainee post and we are committed to supporting you in the completion of the Therapy Assistant Practitioner 2 year apprenticeship. This would involve both on the job and classroom learning and will be a level 5 qualification at the end.
The Community Integrated Response Team is committed to staff development and therefore successful assistant practitioners may be eligible to apply for the Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist apprenticeships in the future, subject to availability.
Someone who already has an Assistant Practitioner qualification (or nearing completion) but will consider applications from individuals who can demonstrate that they are practising at an enhanced level and have achieved competencies equivalent to that of an Assistant Practitioner.
