Please note this is a part time, permanent post (15 hours per week/ Sat & Sun)

This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Practitioner to join our Occupational Therapy department at University Hospital Wishaw.

The successful candidate will implement treatment programmes within hospital and community settings for individuals / groups of patients, as well as undertaking baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters for the Occupational Therapy service.

The successful candidate will also be required to use specialist technical and practical skills to deliver flexible, patient centred programmes.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Formal qualification at HNC Level or equivalent level of experience in a health / education / social care environment plus short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area
  • Valid Full UK driving licence

Knowledge, training and / or / experience required to do the job:

  • Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.
  • Knowledge of the clinical speciality/area process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group.
  • Ability to apply a range of technical and practical skills.
  • Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Time management, planning and organisational skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
  • Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning.
