Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for Walberton Nursery as Assistant Operations Manager. This role will support the Production Operations Manager to deliver the needs of the Operations Department and provide a service to other areas of the business across a number of disciplines. The Assistant Operations Manager will have direct Line Management responsibility, and may over time develop direct management accountability for certain areas within the department. The Assistant Operations Manager will also be responsible for monitoring productivity and quality outputs and seeking improvements in efficiency.
The key areas of responsibility for this new role will be to:
- Support the Production Operations Manager in deploying staff on a daily basis to adequately cover all operational needs, as well as supporting in staff training, agency management, potting and space planning
- Monitor and improve productivity, efficiency and quality; challenge improvements to productivity and efficiency through planning and targeting
- Line Manage permanent and seasonal staff
- Undertake weekend duties on a rota basis
The position is full time. 31 days holiday per year pro rata, inclusive of Bank Holidays. Salary from £30,464 to £36,228 per annum, plus benefits, depending on existing skills and experience.
