We are looking for an Assistant News Editor to join us at Mirror Online. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior journalist to take on one of the biggest jobs in UK digital journalism. The role will be focused on driving new audience from US content.

This role is a 6 month fixed term contract that is a hybrid position working both from home and from our New York hub, we are therefore open to candidates commutable to New York.
What will the role involve?
You will oversee a team focusing on US content day-to-day, choosing the best stories and liaising with all departments to create a dynamic and diverse website while managing staff and projects confidently as and when required. Growing our digital audience will be your top priority - and you’ll be passionate about doing it.
You will coordinate digital conferences and represent the department, work with other editorial leaders and ensure all content is legally and IPSO compliant while taking an interest in development of staff and ensure the department’s culture is open and inclusive.
Who are we looking for?
An experienced journalist with in-depth knowledge of media law. You will be a capable, assured and experienced digital media expert and will have worked at a national or major regional level before. You will manage a talented, driven team with ease, and be able to support and direct in a pressured and frequently changing environment.
