Our client, who is based within the public sector, has an urgent requirement for Assistant Microbiologists on a temporary basis until 29th September 2023 with a possibility of extension and will be based in Eurocentral.
The pay rate will be £14.41 per hour.
Hours of work 35 hours per week Monday to Friday. Times to be confirmed but most likely 8.30am to 5.00pm.
A Basic Disclosure dated within the last 12 months is required for this role.

Key Duties
A laboratory-based role, the postholders will:
Receive and prepare water samples for Covid RNA analysis by RT-qPCR
Perform RNA extraction either manually or via liquid handling platform
Carry out microbiological analysis of water samples for E.coli and Intestinal enterococci
Prepare microbiological media
Assist with reagent preparation and PCR analysis
Undertake general laboratory tasks, including preparation of stock & glassware, waste disposal, cleaning, entering data into LIMS system
Skills and Education:
An HNC or equivalent in a biological science with an emphasis in microbiology and molecular biology. A lower educational qualification may be acceptable provided the candidate has relevant previous experience
Experience within a Microbiology laboratory environment
General microbiology laboratory skills, ideally with a molecular biology element concentration/extraction, PCR)
