Summary
In this position, the Assistant Merchant’s primary responsibility is to support sales and execution of merchandising strategies and business objectives.
Essential Responsibilities
- Support the Director of Merchandising by running weekly reports, analyzing data, and researching the market to drive sales.
- Responsible for digital asset (photography and copy) approvals and maintenance; regularly review and audit content’s accuracy; approve and write descriptive copy for items that will effectively communicate the product to the end customer for ecommerce distribution channels.
- Monitor customers’ website to ensure our products are online, pricing is accurate and check reviews of our products.
- Conduct market research, work with internal teams and utilize SEO tools to identify opportunities to improve content on existing active items.
- Work closely on item set up and maintenance; communicate new product initiatives and updates to Sales team; track incoming orders and make sure products are set up on customers’ accounts quickly.
- Responsible for negative customer reviews management, tracking and working with internal teams to investigate potential issues.
- Works closely with Sales and Customer Service teams on product-related inquiries.
- Assist in the promotion management; maintain marketing calendar and sku lists; and partner with Planning on inventory replenishment.
- Conduct regular comp research on product offerings, pricing, and report on market changes and emerging trends. Create trend boards and market validation; provide direction on new product development.
- Support the team and management in ad hoc projects.
Job Experience/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 1-2 years of retail or ecommerce experience
- Furniture, lighting and/or hardline home decor product category experience is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
- Flexible, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment, manage different projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple projects
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 per year

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
