Assistant Merchandiser - Homeware
We are recruiting for an Assistant Merchandiser to join our Homewares team.
About the Role
As the Assistant Merchandiser for Homewares, you will assist the Merchandiser with effectively planning and trading across the division. You will be responsible for initiating and proposing actions through analysis of brand, category or attribute trading patterns in order to deliver the KPI’s. You will also lead and develop a team of Merchandise Admin Assistants to success.
You will be responsible for achieving the divisional KPI’s: including sales, margin and OTB levels. Working closely with internal teams across Buying, Retail, Distribution and our external vendors, you will manage the range over its lifecycle, communicating opportunities and risks to internal stakeholders.
Your duties will also include:

Managing, coaching and developing the Merchandise Admin Assistants.

Monitoring and reviewing performance of direct reports, identifying individuals who are ready for promotion or require performance improvement plans.

Challenging Merchandising processes to ensure the team is working efficiently and effectively to support the business.

Carrying out in-season reviews to offer valuable analysis for the Merchandiser and Buyers to make strategic decisions for future season plans.

Reforecasting in-season performance against plan, taking action in order to maximise profit.
About You
We are looking for an established Assistant Merchandiser, or high performing Merchandise Admin Assistant, or be in a comparable Buying role looking for a change. You will have a strong understanding of the key financials, including current forecasts and growth requirements by selling channel.
You will passionate about going above and beyond for the team and will have developed leadership and coaching capabilities. You will be a champion of best practice and Merchandising processes, such as range analysis, efficient flow of stock and PO management.
You will be an Excel expert, with experience of auto-replenishment and forecasting.
