Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Mental Health Act Compliance Officer to join our expanding Mental Health Act Compliance team, based at Northgate Hospital, Great Yarmouth. This is a Band 3, full time position.

Once fully trained the successful candidate will be able to be subject to a hybrid working pattern with the opportunity to work from home in line with the Trust's Flexible working policy.
We are inviting applications from enthusiastic individuals who will work with the existing Mental Health Act Compliance Team to assist in the provision of a comprehensive Mental Health Act service to the Trust.
You must be a good, clear communicator and have the ability to deal with issues as they arise. An understanding of confidentiality and data protection is essential.
The ability to prioritise and work on your own initiative, reliability, diplomacy, flexibility and adaptability are key to this position.
The post requires a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages, in particular Microsoft excel, word and Teams.
Maintaining Section 117 Registers. Maintain existing reminder system for clinicians with S117 responsibility. Maintain existing systems for registering people who are subject to Section 136 MHA.
To maintain existing systems to record Section 117 documentation, oversee and support the administration process of the Section 117 after-care service ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the Section 117 records
Maintain existing reminder systems for clinicians who are required to arrange Section 117 reviews along with the existing systems to record Section 136 documentation. This includes data entry and scanning and uploading of documentation.
Assist and support the Mental Health Act Compliance Officers with tasks associated with recording MHA data, and maintaining compliance with the MHA and support MHA Compliance Officers in timely booking of Associate Hospital Managers appeal and renewal hearings and administrative tasks associated with the same.
