Media Planning are looking for an Assistant Media Scheduler. This role sits within the Media Planning team and will support the scheduling and optimising of BBC promotional media content across digital & radio. This role will also assist the Media Inventory Manager with the reporting of our media inventory, including tracking & data analysis across our promotional spaces.
This is a permanent role with a Salford location.
The Media Planning department manages the BBC's promotional inventory. The department plans across TV, radio and online, working with many teams from numerous areas of the BBC, including Marketing, Audiences, Creative and Editorial, to deliver the right message, to the right audience at the right time.
Main ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Media Scheduler, the main responsibility of the Assistant Media Scheduler is to schedule and maintain the promotional space across Digital & Radio, whilst also assisting the Media Inventory Manager with reporting and performance analysis.
You will introduce users to the full breadth of the BBC’s output. You will be accountable for utilizing all available audience data to create the most audience focused promotional schedules, and will be required to ensure these schedules are editorially sound, meet all the relevant requirements and are fit for publication. You will also be required to work across multiple channels (radio, digital and inventory) and demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to work in a team.
Are you the right candidate?As an Assistant Media Scheduler you will demonstrate a keen interest in and knowledge of the BBC’s television/radio/digital output. You will have a natural interest in developments in the digital media landscape, most specifically in identifying tactical cross promotion opportunities to navigate browsers to other BBC services/events.
With an understanding of the editorial and publication requirements of a media schedule, you will have an appreciation of scheduling and creative media solutions. You will possess an understanding of media research and marketing within a broadcast environment, have excellent time management and the ability to work to deadlines. You will have good analytical skills and have the ability to use excel, analyse data and write reports.
This is an entry level role in the department, and training on all systems and media theory will be given if you are successful.
