ABOUT THE ROLE
As our new Assistant Marketing Manager – Customer Events, you will be responsible for driving OUP’s successful third-party events program, developing and shaping face-to-face events to best meet the needs of our community and OUP’s business objectives; maximising opportunities for community building, raising brand awareness, and developing advocacy.
You will oversee the successful delivery of global third-party conferences, working to maximise their effectiveness, and driving ROI, while also contributing across a range of broader team initiatives.
Duties will include:
- Plan and deliver ELT’s third-party conference program, ensuring attended events are impactful, on-time, and to budget.
- In collaboration with internal marketing stakeholders, event organisers, and freelancers, develop impactful exhibitions and speaker programs.
- Engage with and coordinate third-party suppliers to deliver safe, high quality, and on-brand event experiences, on time and to budget.
- Support the ELT division with cross divisional events, ensuring ELT requirements are accounted for from planning to delivery.
- Produce detailed reports, sharing analysis and providing evidence-based proposals for improving customer reach and customer experience.
- Collaborate with, and support marketing colleagues on, broader team initiatives.
- Support team workflows, ensuring speaker and event requests are handled efficiently; consistently make recommendations for streamlining processes.
- Ensure ethical and compliance protocols are followed across all event activity.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

Essential:
- Demonstrable experience working in events.
- Ability to manage projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to organize and prioritise workload in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Good understanding of digital marketing.
- Ability to adapt and change while keeping up with digital trends and technology.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Strong soft skills online and in-person.
Desirable:
- Interest or background in education.
- International event management experience.
- MS Project, or equivalent project manager software experience.
