Technology is an integral part of KPMG’s Defence Consulting practice. We help transform the way CIOs, CTOs and their management teams manage and deliver IT services and wider technology solutions to their customers. We help our clients to understand and exploit the constantly changing technology ecosystem to deliver value, agility and efficiency. In collaboration with other specialists across KPMG, we support our clients through digital transformation and enable them to transform their business through technology-enabled change.
We deliver collaborative team engagements, working together across the wide range of capabilities within our National Security team to help our clients get the best from their IT services. We are growing our team to meet an ever-increasing demand for our market-leading services and are seeking expertise and experience to join us.

National Security
The National Security sector is one of KPMG’s key priority sectors, designated for high growth over the next three years. In order to deliver our exciting growth plans, KPMG are recruiting experienced, market-focused consultants to join this team.
The team are seeking Managers to deliver technology-enabled change activities on National Security engagements and to support KPMG’s growth in this market.
Due to the nature of the work, it is essential for applicants to hold current 'National Security Vetting’ aligned to a National Security organisation.

The Role

  • We are seeking talented individuals with experience of leading large-scale transformation in the National Security market to deliver a number of existing and upcoming opportunities, helping our clients to maximise the value from their current IT and broader technology services and shape their future ones for success.
  • You will join an established and highly successful National Security practice, with the opportunity to leverage our leading technology methodologies and continue our growth.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required
You will have proven experience in helping clients to shape and deliver technology-enabled change that delivers value, agility and efficiency, including:
  • Experience leading engagements addressing complex technological issues, with demonstrable results.
  • Experience across one or more of the disciplines of business analysis, systems thinking, solution architecture, technical architecture, data architecture and data science.
  • Experience bringing a technology perspective to a broad range of client issues, demonstrating how technology can be used to address problems and realise opportunities.
  • Proven ability to manage the development and delivery of IT operating models that enable clients to get the most from their technology organisation.
  • The ability to develop and implement digital and technology strategies alongside client teams.
  • A proven record of providing credible consultancy and advice to clients on how to operate technology in the most effective manner.
  • Ability to leverage deep sector knowledge and experience to contextualise solutions to National Security clients with short turnaround times.
  • The ability to develop strong client relationships with client personnel at all levels, including senior leaders.
  • The intellectual strength and flexibility to rapidly understand complex problems and rationalise these into workable solutions for delivery.
  • The knowledge of a variety of different approaches and techniques and the ability to apply them to understand, frame and solve client problems.

Key Responsibilities
As a Manager in our team, we will expect you to:

  • Manage projects, or workstreams within a larger programme, consulting with Partners and Directors where appropriate.
  • Plan and shape the delivery of engagements, including work plans, timelines, project management and resource allocations.
  • Lead the production and contribute significantly to the presentation of client deliverables.
  • Work collaboratively with client staff and management, often in joint teams, in the development and delivery of recommendations.
  • Work alongside Senior Managers to supervise and develop less experienced team members.
  • Contribute significantly to the development of National Security case studies and proposals where required.
  • Build and manage relationships with clients on a daily basis.
  • Leverage your overarching expertise and network to generate new client opportunities.
  • Drive the development of propositions and assets, bringing a National Security perspective to them.
  • Take a lead in sharing knowledge and developing relevant skills within our team.
  • Be a Performance Manager for junior team members, helping them to develop and progress their careers.
