JOB TITLE: Assistant Manager, Model Risk and Validation
SALARY: The salary banding for this role is £56,332 - £62,580
LOCATION: 125 London Wall, London
HOURS: 35 hours, full time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

This role is part of a specialist modelling team focused on building and delivering industry leading models within the Group. You’ll be responsible for ensuring specific models are appropriately validated, monitored and managed in line with Group and regulatory standards.
You’ll be performing complex data processing using established procedures and testing new procedures to see if they might represent improvements over existing methods.
You’ll play an important role in enabling others to use and benefit from existing data management systems. You’re expected to work independently to collate and analyse data using pre-determined tools, methods and formats.
This role involves Investigating standard incidents with current regulatory and compliance processes, systems and procedures, taking action to solve immediate compliance issues and providing advice to more senior colleagues on more complex problems.
We’re a growing team with additional headcount needed to support regulatory reviews and remaining compliant with our Policy. Failure to recruit will seriously threaten our ability to do this.

What you’ll need
Experience: Model build experience and/or independent validation within a financial services organisation
Judgement: Ability to utilise experience and knowledge to make sound model judgements, taking into account model performance, regulation and wider considerations
Industry Knowledge: A sound and up-to-date understanding of modelling and validation techniques, governance, model documentation and relevant regulation
Business Knowledge: Knowledge of banking business and associated risk management approaches sufficient to understand models in the context of the business
Influence: Ability to communicate and influence on sophisticated issues, verbally and in writing (including model documentation), across all key partner groups
Integrity: Has ethics and integrity at the heart of every decision, and creates an environment that encourages high performance, openness, honesty and integrity
And any experience of these would be really useful
Effective relationship management, delivering successful business partnering whereby constructive challenge is undertaken in a timely and orderly fashion
Experience of model validation processes at other Banks
Machine Learning / Advanced Analytics experience, possibly gained in a nonbanking environment
